Nottingham Trent University numeracy skills test revision session
12 February 2016 at 13:00 - 16:00 in Nottingham at the Nottingham Trent University
Applicants for initial teacher training (ITT) courses starting in 2016/17 and beyond are required to have passed the professional skills tests in both numeracy and literacy before the start of their course. This applies to those intending to follow an employment-based route into teaching, such as School Direct, as well as those intending to take the PGCE route or an Assessment Only route.
Nottingham Trent University School of Education are offering a short course in numeracy to help applicants for ITT prepare for this test. The course is open to all ITT applicants regardless of their intended route or ITT provider.
This course will cover the key knowledge required to pass the numeracy test, including:
- using and applying general arithmetic
- mental arithmetic
- interpreting and using statistical information
The focus throughout will be on the types of questions asked in the skills tests, and common errors to avoid.
The Numeracy course consists of a morning classroom session (9.30am-12.30pm)
Cost is £50, but if you enrol on a teacher training course with NTU in September 2016 we will refund the cost of the course!
Cost includes all tuition and course materials.
If you are unable to attend this session we are running numeracy and literacy revision sessions on 4 December 2015, 12 February 2016 and 13 May 2016.
Please email us to register for this event.
