Teaching events

Events offer a brilliant opportunity to find out more about teacher training and what a career in teaching has to offer. They’re also a great way to meet the schools and universities that lead teacher training around the country, and get one-to-one advice on every aspect of getting into teaching.

A teacher leads a lesson outside

Events for prospective teachers happen throughout the year, covering a wide variety of topics. These include our flagship Train to Teach Roadshows, which are designed for anyone interested in teaching – particularly those who want to teach primary, maths, physics, chemistry, languages, design and technology, computing and geography.

There are two types of Train to Teach event – national and regional:

  • national events are held at large venues at cities around England, and include the opportunity to speak to representatives from UCAS and professional subject associations, as well as training providers in the region
  • regional events are held on a local level at smaller venues; you’ll benefit from similar presentations and expert one-to-one advice, and can speak to training providers from your region

The schools and universities that provide teacher training also hold their own events to help you get into teaching – from open days to help with the application process and events targeted at specific audiences.

You can search for all of these, and get involved in our online events, throughout this section. You’ll need to have registered with us to get involved in events, so if you haven’t done that already, get started by creating a profile today.
