Teaching events

Events offer a brilliant opportunity to find out more about teacher training and what a career in teaching has to offer. They’re also a great way to meet the schools and universities that lead teacher training around the country, and get one-to-one advice on every aspect of getting into teaching.

A teacher leads a lesson outside

Free events for prospective teachers take place throughout the year, covering a wide variety of topics. These include Train to Teach Roadshows, which are designed for anyone interested in teaching – particularly those who want to teach primary (including early years), physics, maths, chemistry, computing, languages, biology or geography.

These events are held at venues around England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and include the opportunity to:

  • attend a presentation on the different teacher training options
  • receive expert one-to-one advice
  • speak to representatives from UCAS and professional subject associations at some events (check the event page to see who will be at each event)
  • speak to training providers in your region
  • meet current teachers, including those who have changed career to teach

The schools and universities that deliver teacher training also hold their own events to help you get into teaching, offering taster sessions, information on training options, and help with the application process. These provider events range from general open days to events about teaching specific subjects.

You can search for all types of events, and get involved in our online events, on this website. You’ll need to have registered with us to participate in events, so if you haven’t done that already, get started by creating a profile today.
