Rural Schools Alliance - classroom taster day

Tuesday 21 May 2024 at 08:15 - 15:00
Swanmore College, Swanmore, SO32 2RB

Event information

After a guided tour of the school, you'll have an information session about training to teach, the school-led route to gaining your PGCE (was School Direct) and what it would be like to train with us. We'll also give you a guide to observing lessons and different techniques to look out for during your day in class.

You'll spend the rest of the day observing classes, so you can see what goes into teaching, get a feel for the classrooms and decide whether this is the career for you.

Who is it aimed at?
  • recent graduates or those in their final year of their degree who are considering teaching at Secondary school
  • career changers who are thinking about retraining and starting a new career as a teacher
  • anyone wanting to know more about the school-led route for Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
  • those who have are choosing the providers to apply to and are considering the Rural Schools Alliance
  • future trainees who have already secured a place with the Rural Schools Alliance and want to gain some more experience in school.
