Teaching internships

Applications now closed

Applications for the Teaching Internships Programme in 2022 are now closed. Applications will reopen by early 2023.

If you’re interested in spending some time in a classroom, you can still get school experience.

Get school experience

A teaching internship gives you the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in a school and find out what teaching is really like. You’ll experience being in a classroom, gain new skills, and be paid £300 per week.

Teaching internships usually take place during June and July. Places fill up quickly.

Once applications are open, details of school partnerships offering internships will be listed on this page.

Internship subjects

In 2023, teaching internships will be available for students wanting to teach:

  • chemistry
  • computing
  • languages
  • maths
  • physics

To take part, you’ll need to be studying for a degree related to the subject you want to teach.
