Are you interested in starting a rewarding career in teaching? Join our webinar to find out more about getting into teaching in Portsmouth. We'll be joined by two newly qualified Portsmouth teachers sharing their experiences of university-based and school-based initial teacher training and the transition from trainee to newly qualified teacher (NQT). The webinar will be hosted by Councillor Suzy Horton, cabinet member for children, families and education from Portsmouth City Council. Councillor Horton started her teaching career as a primary school teacher in London progressing to a lecturer in further education and at university.

Our speakers
We'll be joined by Emily Brown, who studied a BA (Hons) in education, special needs and disability at the University of Chichester and is now a teacher at Court Lane Infant Academy in Portsmouth, a University of Chichester Academy Trust school. We'll also hear from Abigail Abrahams who trained to teach in Portsmouth with the PTSA and University of Portsmouth, taking a School Direct route to her PGCE and QTS. She is now a secondary school English teacher based at Mayfield School in Portsmouth.
