The Waverley School Direct programme is in its seventh year of recruiting talented and committed future teachers to train in its partnership of primary and secondary schools. We are proud to serve one of the most disadvantaged areas of Birmingham and a very high percentage of our trainees go on to work as Newly Qualified Teachers in local schools.
We offer a full postgraduate PGCE with 60 Masters credits through partnership with Newman University (primary and secondary subjects) and Birmingham City University (secondary French, Spanish, Urdu, art and design, design technology and music only). All trainees come together to school-based sessions delivered by both primary and secondary practitioners, sharing expertise and developing understanding of the learning continuum.
If you are a graduate or are undertaking an undergraduate degree, book a place on our open evening to meet colleagues involved in our teacher training programme. We will explore a range of topics, such as the range of ITT routes, entry requirements, student finance, writing an effective personal statement and preparing for interview. And you will find out what is so special about the Waverley School Direct programme.
The evening will begin with light refreshments and a presentation shortly after 16.00, followed by the opportunity to ask questions. We very much look forward to meeting you.
