Teach First - 121 coffee meetings for career changers - Newcastle

26 February 2020 at 12:00 - 14:30 in Newcastle at the Starbucks

Event information:

Think teaching is just for recent graduates? Think again.

The life and career experience you bring to the classroom is a huge asset. It opens minds, and it gives young people the best start.

Teach First's training programme is the largest teacher training and leadership programme in the country, and it comes with a whole host of benefits:

  •  earn a salary from your first day in the classroom.
  •  gain a fully-funded postgraduate diploma in education and leadership (PGDE) and pay no fees.
  •  receive close, expert support from your school and from us.
  • work in schools where you can make the biggest difference to your students' lives.

The most in-demand subjects are maths, science and modern foreign languages - 62% of low-income pupils fail to achieve an A*- C science GCSE. If you hold a STEM, french or spanish-related degree you may qualify to teach one of these subjects.

You can also teach maths and science from your A-Levels or equivalent if the grade is B or above, you can complete a subject knowledge enhancement course (SKE) before you start teaching in September to boost subject expertise.

Meet one-to-one with a Teach First recruiter to find out more about how Teach First can help you move into a fulfilling and challenging career – sign up today.
