Somerset SCITT (Primary) - Spring 2020 open afternoon

Event information:

Somerset SCITT offer three post graduate routes to gain qualified teacher status (QTS). These include:

  •  PGCE primary (ages 5-11)
  •  PGCE primary with early years specialism (ages 3-7)
  •  School Direct (salaried and non-salaried) – based in Somerset, working in partnership with Heathfield Community School
  • School Direct (non-salaried) – based in North Somerset, working in partnership with Golden Valley Primary School
  •  School Direct (non-salaried) – based in North Somerset, working in partnership with Bournville Primary School – Beach Teaching School Alliance
  •  The Duchy School – Ventrus
  •  teaching apprenticeship

All our programmes award QTS and PGCE (awarded by University of Worcester) our modules develop critical and evaluative understanding of the processes and practice of effective learning through demonstration of knowledge, skills and understanding related to high quality and effective practice.

You will develop a clear framework for their own professional values and demonstrate a critical and reflective attitude towards their practice, showing an articulation of the interdependent relationship of practice and theory.

Somerset SCITT work in partnership with a number of selected schools, early years settings, MATs and teaching alliances across the South West to provide placements, School Direct routes and apprenticeships.
