Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre - teacher taster day

21 May 2019 at 09:00 - 15:00 in Cheltenham at the Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre

Event information:

Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre one of a few schools who offer an interactive teaching taster day that gives you the chance to 'have a go at teaching' and the opportunity to work as part of a team to plan and delivery a lesson to our students.

The day begins with a warm welcome from the Headteacher; the initial teacher training coordinator will then make a short presentation about 'what teaching looks like today' before you join classes and observe different teaching styles. The assistant headteacher will then discuss how to plan a lesson before you work within a group, to plan and delivering a lesson to our students.

After lunch a representative from one of the universities we are in partnership with will join us to explain about the different pathways in to teaching followed by Q&A.

We work with universities in Bristol, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP) to provide PGCE teacher training placements and offer this valuable pre-enrolment opportunity to find out if teaching is for you.
