Tudor Grange SCITT taste of teaching - English, humanities, the arts and languages

7 March 2019 at 09:00 to 7 March 2019 at 15:30 in Solihull at the Tudor Grange Academy Solihull

Event info:

Ideal for candidates that are looking to find out more about teaching and if a career in teaching is right for them, Taste of Teaching Days are focused around what the day to day life of a teacher is and what a career in teaching is really like.

Senior Leadership from Tudor Grange Academy Solihull (highest performing non-selective school in Solihull, ranked within top 100 secondary schools nationally) will run small workshops exploring the reality of teaching and the different career development pathways available within schools and the education system. Aspects of teaching that prospective candidates may not have considered before are also examined, such as character traits of a teacher and the pastoral role of a teacher. Lesson observations are also factored into the day and attendees will gain first-hand experience observing outstanding teachers teach, whilst also having multiple opportunities to interact with staff and students during a teaching and learning activity with students.

Attendees will leave the day having a much deeper and broader understanding of the teaching profession and will be able to make more accurate judgements surrounding if teaching is something they want to pursue. Additionally trainees will have an over view of routes into teaching and potential next steps on their journey towards a career in teaching!

This day is only suitable for attendees in the pre-application phase.
