Get into teaching with the Leicestershire Secondary SCITT

28 April 2016 at 16:30 - 18:00 in Leicester at the Leicester Teaching School

Event info:

This is the perfect opportunity to find out how you could be changing children’s lives and making a difference every day.

Come to the Leicestershire Secondary SCITT and meet the programme manager and deputy manager. Find out about the SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training), how it differs from university and how it provides you with everything you need to become an outstanding teacher.

Answer questions such as, what funding will be available? How soon could you be making a huge difference to the next generation of students? Will you be eligible for a bursary of up to £30,000? We will explain how this is assessed, so you can focus on becoming an exciting and inspiring teacher, not about paying the bills.

Learn about the network of good and outstanding schools that you will be spending time in. Discover how you observe good and outstanding teachers, team teach and then are supported by these amazing practitioners. Find out about the LSTs (lead subject tutors) who guide you through your subject specialism training and ensure you have the knowledge required to be the amazing teacher you always wanted to be.

Discuss the merits of your UCAS application, how to address any gaps and how to develop your strengths even further. You can also find out about SKEs (subject knowledge enhancement courses) and how these allow experienced graduates with a wealth of knowledge and life skills to train as a teacher when they thought it impossible.

Overseas candidates are very welcome.

Please register to book your place.
