Teachers’ Student Loan Reimbursement

To encourage and reward languages and science teachers to teach in specific areas of England, the Teachers’ Student Loan Reimbursement scheme will pay back the student loan repayments you’ve made in the previous year.

To increase pupils’ potential, irrespective of where they start in life, we need high quality languages and science* teachers. So, if you’re up for a challenge and want to be rewarded at the same time, start your teaching career in an area that needs great teachers.

If you start teacher training or are in years 1 to 5 of your career from September 2018, the Teachers’ Student Loan Reimbursement scheme will pay back the student loan repayments you’ve made in the previous year. You’ll need to have made student loan repayments via PAYE to the Student Loans Company and teach languages or science* in a state-funded school in a designated local authority.

For more information on the eligibility criteria, payment rates, participating local authorities and applying for the scheme visit GOV.UK. Remember to register with us for support throughout the application process with our teaching experts.
