Training to teach primary
By training to teach primary, you’ll have an extraordinary impact during some of the most crucial years of a child’s development. No two days will ever be the same as you teach subjects across the curriculum. You could also be eligible for a bursary to help fund your training. Alternatively, you could earn a salary while you train with School Direct (salaried) or Teach First.
As a primary teacher, you can set children up to succeed from the start, making sure they all have access to a brilliant education. The impact you can have as a primary teacher is immense.
Primary teachers often teach the same class different subjects, so your training will also equip you with the skills you need to respond to your pupils’ individual needs. As a result, you’ll discover how to fulfil an increasingly pastoral role in the classroom, helping children feel at ease and settled into school life.
Once qualified you’ll be ensured job security, and benefit from a competitive starting salary of at least £22,467, or £28,098 in inner London.
Primary teachers are eligible for bursaries of £3k with a first or PhD
